A Musical Benefit for Jewish Voice for Peace - Bay Area Chapter

Award-winning singer-songwriter with guitar and banjo playing original songs that are sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, sometimes political, and often memorable.

Jewish Voice for Peace - Bay Area Chapter JVP Bay Area started in 1996 and became the first local chapter and center of the national Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Now, JVP nationally is the largest U.S.-based grassroots organization dedicated to promoting full equality, democracy, and self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians with over 200,000 supporters across the country.

Clyde Leland

After writing and singing songs most of his life, Clyde finally decided to do it professionally when he retired from teaching law and started singing for his granddaughter's preschool class 10 years ago. When other teachers asked him to sing for their classes too, Clyde joined the Children's Music Network as Grampa Clyde and took his act to preschools, daycare centers, and kids' libraries in the Bay Area. But he has kept writing and singing for grown-ups too (not x-rated, just not kids' songs). He has played throughout Northern California, including at the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, where he both held a Saturday-morning toddlers' song circle called Freighter Tots and headlined a tribute concert to John Prine, whose wit and poignancy have been the strongest influence on Clyde's songwriting. Clyde is on the Chapter Council of Jewish Voice for Peace Bay Area and is a member of the longest-running men's group in the Bay Area.
